Q: I can't start the editor! The error message says Incorrect application configuration!
A: If you get this message when starting the editor, you don't have the .NET 2.0 framework installed. You can download it here.

If that still doesn't resolve the issue, then try downloading and installing this if you are using a 32-bit operating system (Windows XP non 64-bit, Vista 32-bit) or this if you are using a 64-bit system.

Q: Editor crashes with a DEP (Data Execution Prevention) error (Windows Vista). What should I do?
A: This happends because Vista is abit overzealous when it comes to protecting the computer from programs. You need to turn off DEP for the RME.exe file. Follow these steps:
  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Click on System.
  3. Click on Advanced system settings in the menu to the left.
  4. Click on the Settings button under the Performance box (description is "Visual effects, processor scheduling, memory usage and virtual memory") in the Advanced tab.
  5. Click on the Data Execution Prevention tab.
  6. Either only turn on DEP for esesntial programs, or add RME.exe to the list of exceptions.
  7. Click OK on every dialog and restart Windows if required.

Q: The editor crashes when I start it! Why? (Windows)
A: First off, the editor requires Windows XP or newer to work properly. If you don't have it, get it.

If you have XP or Vista and the editor doesn't work, then look at Question number two and follow the instructions.

If that doesn't work you should try updating your video drivers, for a simple guide look here.

Finally, if none of the above works post an issue at the project tools at OTFans for support.

Q: I can't create a spawn with a radius greater than 30 sqm, can I do that in any way?
A: Yes. You need to open the registry (See #10) and change the key MAX_SPAWN_RADIUS to a greater value. Be ware that this might impact performance in a negative way.
